Mengjinyuan AU9999 4.78g Gold Ring Without Invoice: How to Check It
A Mengjinyuan gold ring marked AU9999 and weighing 4.78g may be described by the seller as 99.99% gold, but the mark is still a claim until a qualified test or reliable certificate supports it. Without an invoice, you need to document identity, weight and fineness more carefully.
The GB 11887-2012 national standard record was listed as China’s current mandatory standard when checked on 11 October 2026 for jewellery precious-metal fineness and designation. For a dispute or sale, rely on the actual product mark, certificate, test result and buyer’s written quote rather than on the words “AU9999” alone.
What to prepare
- Clear photos of the ring, brand mark and AU9999 mark.
- A calibrated reweighing record showing whether the ring is exactly 4.78g now.
- Any old box, tag, payment record, repair record or photo showing the ring belongs to you.
- A fineness test or written inspection note if the buyer questions the mark.
How a buyback quote is usually written
Ask the recycler whether its rate is per gram of accepted finished alloy or per gram of fine gold. If a verified 4.78 g item is accepted at 99.99% fineness and the rate is per gram of fine gold, the conditional fine-gold weight is 4.78 × 0.9999 = 4.779522 g. Multiply that by the quoted fine-gold purchase rate and subtract only charges not already included. If the rate is already an all-in purchase price per gram of accepted AU9999 jewellery, use the accepted jewellery weight instead; do not apply the same purity discount again. These are pricing methods, not a current quote.
Before testing, ask whether the method is non-destructive, what limitations it has and what consent is required for filing, cutting or melting. Record the ring’s weight before handing it over and the process for returning it if you reject the quote. A box or payment record can support provenance but is not an independent purity test.
No invoice does not automatically make the ring fake, but it does make documentation and testing more important.
